1 in 4 Canadians Experience Depression
A person with depression experiences a depressed mood, such as feelings of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness, and/or a loss of interest or pleasure in all or nearly all activities.
Other symptoms of depression can include changes in appetite or eating, sleep habits, or physical activity. Many people with depression also experience low energy, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, problems concentrating or making decisions, or thoughts of death.
1-2% of Canadians Have BPD
In general, an individual with BPD experiences difficulties with emotion regulation, impulse control, self-image, and/or interpersonal relationships.
Specific symptoms of BPD can include the following: fears of abandonment, unstable relationships and sense of self, self-harm, emotional instability, impulsive behaviours, feelings of emptiness, intense anger, or stress-related disconnections from one's thoughts, memories, and sense of self.
